How “Obamacare” is “socialist” despite the fact that nearly all of it was proposed by Republicans a mere 15 years ago.
How the economy crashed in 2007 “under Obama’s watch.”
How the tea party is a populist movement that contains both Republicans, Independents and Democrats instead of a wholly owned subsidary of the Republican party, controlled and run by the Republican party and funded entirely with the money of right wing rich people.
“Freedom filaments.” Heh, that’s good.
You’re familiar with the concept of a “poe” and Poe’s Law?
Although these are clearly labeled as cartoons, and clearly noted for humor, it is often impossible to tell which lines are made up, and which ones are real. Politics on the radically-unhinged conservative side is so bizarre it’s almost impossible to parody.
I mean, what was Rand Paul thinking when he posted to YouTube the video of his complaint about not being able to find a toilet that flushes well, for 20 years? (Has he bothered to consult with Jo the Plumber yet? I’ll bet not.)
So, Morgan gets concerned when he reads these strips. Are they real? He can’t say, because he’s not certain, either.
He finds them unfunny? That’s too bad. The sense of humor’s abandoning a movement is a sign of imminent collapse, or imminent need of a stiff drink.
“Fascinating,” as Spock would say.
The punchlines ALL have to do with pretending something that didn’t really happen, indeed did happen. Every. Single. One.
And Mister “Debunk Urban Legends Like Fillmore’s Bathtub Fr’Instance” himself, wants to start an agitated Internet-driven populist movement to get these “jokes” more widespread. These exercises in pretending things that didn’t really happen, indeed did happen. Victory for the progressive side apparently depends on pretending false things are actually true.
Ready to retire that “Reality Based Community” moniker yet? Looks like now’s the time.
