Pat Bagley tells the truth (Pulitzer committee, are you paying attention?)
Pat Bagley, in the Salt Lake Tribune, December 17, 2012, on gun safety issues, “Coming to Grips with Gun Control.”
This would explain why the National Rifle Association (NRA) feels like it need not offer condolences to victims of gun violence in a recent mass shooting, and has gone silent on Twitter and Facebook.
Joe, do you think Bagley’s cartoon pushed them to say something finally?
Is there any chance that, out of respect for the families and as a matter of common decency, NRA will stop shouting for the heads of any legislator who talks sense about guns? Or will NRA go right back to showing disrespect for the families, for all other Americans, and for our concepts of general welfare and blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity?
(The cynic in me wonders what took them so long to be shocked and saddened?)
“The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown,” the statement reads. “Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.”

We've been soaking in the Bathtub for several months, long enough that some of the links we've used have gone to the Great Internet in the Sky.
If you find a dead link, please leave a comment to that post, and tell us what link has expired.
Thanks!
Oh and since I know some NRA fool is going to argue that I’m saying all guns should be banned…no I’m not.
I’m quite specifically leaving handguns and guns used for hunting out of any such ban.
It’s called compromise. You guys should try it some time.
well if they want to be respectful of families they’d agree to the banning of assault weapons=, mass accumulation of firearms and ammo.
