Dennis at Thinking in a Marrow Bone — not an Obama supporter, mind you — posted a conversation he had with a guy who posted a hoaxed photo of Barack Obama, purporting to show him holding a landline telephone upside down.
This is the hoax photo
Dennis called him on the hoax. After a few rounds of weak defense, and then moral waffling of significant proportion, the hoaxer deleted the comments from his blog. Dennis preserved the conversation at TMB.
Moral of the story: Don’t believe much of what you hear or see, without corroboration. If a claim casts aspersions on someone, and comes on the internet, check it out before granting credence. Thanks to Dennis, an honest guy, for exposing the hoax and preserving the record of it.
Hoaxers are malicious and will do almost anything to damage Obama, even if it requires bringing down the U.S. and burning the flag. No wonder George Washington wanted out of this sort of politics.

This is a lie. I honestly don’t know why he deleted it — I emailed him about it and he never responded. But I got smart and yes, I admit, did call him a couple minor names, only AFTER he deleted the post! Honestly, I think GTP deleted the post because he simply didn’t know how to respond.

I’ve seen him on so many blogs parroting talking points and dispensing inaccurate insults and just general dumbassery that I have to imagine he’s unemployed and blames Obama. No evidence of that. Pell Grants won’t pay for Columbia, nor for graduate study at Harvard. Since he worked in politics and community organizing before he went to Harvard, we can assume that he paid for part of it himself, and that any aid he got was not your dime.
He got into politics in 1983. If he’d campaigned for half that time, that would be more than 12 years. I think you don’t know Obama’s story.
I’d like to see some citations on that claim, I think it’s in error. According to Wikipedia, there are 20 other major cities with higher crime rates. I don’t think Chicago has been in the top 10 in 20 years — but the whole point is relatively moot. Obama’s organizing was to reduce crime rates among other things, and it appears he had some success at it.
But you don’t condemn Ron Parsley for saying the same thing, nor Jon Hagee in San Antonio, nor the late Jerry Falwell, who said exactly the same thing on national television on 9/11 (with Pat Robertson and his idiot grin nodding in agreement). I think you’re partisan on the issue, in addition to wrongly portraying what Wright said. For example, in the previous line, you were condemning crime in Chicago — same thing Wright was condemning in that sermon.
None of which excuses your spreading a hoax.

The whole point of the clock was to show that the picture was a joke. Obama making an upside down phonecall at EXACTLY 3 o’clock is simply too ironic. P.S. Which Obama are you supporting?

“blowhard” with degrees from two Ivy League universities, who was president of the Harvard Law Review, using my and other Americans tax money and a non-experience politician because he has campaigned for positions 3/4 of the time he has been in politics. Let don’t forget that his home town in Illinois has the most crime of any city in the US and they were thinking about having to call in the US NG to fight it. Thank God that I wasn’t the one listening for 20 years at Jeremiah Wright saying God Damn America and agreeing with him! :)

So far as I can tell, GTP, you’ve posted no hoax photos of McCain. If you have some to point to, I’ll be happy to indict them — but I haven’t seen them.
Barack Obama is a really good man running for a very important job. I wish that, in keeping with your use of the motto “In God We Trust” on your blog, you’ll refrain from such blasphemous behavior in the future.
Obama’s a “blowhard” who organized in poor neighborhoods starting 25 years ago, effecting political change that moves people out of poverty and defends the rights of others — including you, GTP. Obama’s a “blowhard” with degrees from two Ivy League universities, who was president of the Harvard Law Review, one of the most distinguished publications in law, in the world. He was instrumental in getting Illinois’s first anti-corruption bill signed into law as a state senator, representing about a third as many people as there are in all of Alaska (217,500 per Senate district in Illinois; 670,000 in Alaska). We could use a lot more blowhards like that.
Obama, by his account, is not better than anyone else. But by his behavior and accomplishments, he’s better than people who create and promulgate hoax photos. We don’t need any more blowhard hoaxers.

It was me who posted the funny pic as a joke but also to show the meaning of my post as to say that Obama is nothing but a blow hard and with no experience what so ever. I have also posted a pic of Obama riding a white horse out of the east to show in a funny way that Obama thinks he Jesus or king! I guess I will not hear of any complaints of pictures that are posted of McCain that is made over and how about the pictures of President Bush that has been posted on many blogs and over tv and newspapers that was redone as a joke or to be funny? Is Barack Hussein Obama better than anyone else to Dennis? I deleted his post because he was starting to get smart and calling me names that this American does not have to listen to! So you can tell Dennis to get off his high horse from along Obama and come back to earth! Oh and by the way as a comment said above…the picture could easy be seen it was a fuuny one but showing how Obama may act if elected to the White House! I also would like to thanks Dennis for all the new traffic he has sent to my blog, the more the better so I can get the word out about who Barack Obama really is! Thanks!

I knew it was a joke image, that why I posted it on PicBits.com, which is where I used to post Funny Pictures. It was never meant to be a website of historically accurate images and videos.
In my opinion, people take photo shopped images too seriously, but I do agree that some websites have made the claim that this is an actual event that did happen. Anyone can see the left over remnants of the phone being held the right way, before it was flipped with photoshop.
As far as what alphaheretic has said, which sounds like it came from Jack Wheeler Opinion email that has been going around, I also consider him an empty suit. But as far as his democrat opinion all I can say is that they have their own thinking about how to run a country, albeit I don’t think it’s a greedy and lustfully type of living they are after.

It means nothing and it was a funny photo. Obama is still an empty suit filled with hot air, lies and even emptier rhetoric for the consumer masses who want more and more and more entitlements. In short, he’s perfect for the Democratic minions who don’t want to work but instead wish to live greedily and lustfully off of the work of others.
