Trump says China? Let’s go see

Kenny sent an e-mail, with a link to Donald Trump, saying “China.”

So, we went to see.

Among other things, Kenny’s brother James, our younger son, was getting married in Beijing.  Good excuse to travel.  Keeping with the rule that one should spend at least a day in a destination for every hour of travel it takes to get there, we planned 13 days.

I don’t think Donald Trump knows China.

After 13 days and a few thousand miles, and perhaps a few hundred supreme dumplings and two Beijing ducks, fugu, and noodles of nearly endless variety, with gallons of stout vinegars you won’t find in a U.S. supermarket, I know I don’t know China.

(I don’t think Trump knows much of anything, a very little in any depth; this is funnier now than it was when Kenny sent the link before the trip.)

Following, not always consecutively, some reports on some of the things we saw. Please stay tuned.

We saw the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi Province, where wheelers and dealers have been mincing people like Donald Trump for millennia. I’ll bet Trump didn’t go there. and the fact that the Hairpiece said that US wages are too high and that the minimum wage is too high should have been an automatic campaign killer if the GOP had any sanity.

But alas..no..the GOP has no sanity and their supporters have no brains.

TO quote: 3) Trump is quite right when he asserts that the movement of manufacturing jobs out of the USA to places like China is deeply harmful, and need to be countered.

If he has such a problem with US jobs being moved to China, Halarious, then why was he complicit in moving quite a lot of those US jobs to China in the first place?

Know where the products for his hotels are made and his clothes line are made?

I’ll buy you a clue..it isn’t the United States. I’ll even give you another clue: the two countries are M****o and C***a.

You may be blind enough to let the fox continue to guard the henhouse..but don’t expect the rest of us to be that blind.

If he’s going to mouth off about Mexico and China when it comes to US Jobs then shouldn’t he have to walk the talk? Or does he get a free pass so he can continue to just mouth off about jobs being shipped elsewhere while he continues to profit off those jobs being shipped elsewhere?

It’s an old art technique that one must know the rules in order to break them…
And when you are going to serve word salads, it’s better to correctly spell those 25 cent ones like “condescending” if you want people to take you seriously.
At least it’s nice that the trolls for Trump are droll.

Leaping to conclusions without looking at the details may be unproductive I’ve found.

Consider, I said nothing condescending about U.S. supermarkets. I said you won’t find Chinese cooking vinegars there. Got any contrary evidence?

Did you even read what I wrote? Note where I said, “I know I don’t know China.”

Hope you’ll stick around for the explanations, and tell us your experiences in China.

    1) Stuffing local foodstuffs down your yap most certainly does not mean that you “know China”, at least not in the context of these issues?

    2) While you are putting out the usual condesending nonsense about “american supermarkets” you might stop and reflect that outside the large cities elites, the average Chinese can only dream about having access to the sort of markets that these foods represent.

    3) Trump is quite right when he asserts that the movement of manufacturing jobs out of the USA to places like China is deeply harmful, and need to be countered.

So not only do you appear not to know China; you do not understand America. Given your childishness, you do not appear toeven know yourself very well
